Good morning Bloggerville fans. Zebee here. Today I have a book about worms. Not just any worms, but a very special worm named Earl. My boss Joy read it to us the other day and now we all watch where we step. None of us want to step on any of the earthworms that live here in the ‘V Zoo’.
So, what do we know about earthworms? Well, they are worms and live in the dirt.

Meet Earl. Earl is an earthworm who’s just been born. He’s trying to figure out just what it is that he’s supposed to do to contribute to the world. He sees bees, grass, ants and trees and knows he is different. When he realizes what his job in the universe is he is happy and loves to do it. What? DIG. Lindsay’s brings Earl’s journey to life. With beautiful vibrant colors she depicts the life of worms both above and below ground.
At the back there is a helpful glossary of terms and a section on composting. You will even learn how to start and maintain your own compost so you can grow beautiful healthy fruits and vegetables to eat.

After reading this book, our boss Joy decided to start a compost of our own. She plans on selling the bags of the mixture to raise money to bring some new animals and add new things to the existing exhibits.
I think a zoo is a great place to have a compost. With all the animals we have, our compost mix should be really rich and we’ll be helping the environment at the same time.
