Zooprise Party / Fiesta Zoorpresa news
Hello everyone out there ‘V Zoo’ land. (a corner of Bloggerville) Zebee here playing reporter to bring you up to date on what’s happening with Zooprise Party / Fiesta Zoorpresa. I have several items to report.
First, last Wednesday, October 29th, my boss Joy, her husband Julio and two of her friends took ZP/FZ to Saint Marco’s Elementary School in Guayama. 72 students in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades were treated to a fun time. Starting off with clapping games, the children were involved right away. Joy and the school’s Spanish teacher, Ms. Lydia Nazario, read the book out loud with a room full of attentive students. After a short discussion about the story and what a zookeeper does, the children were treated to coloring pages, crayons, juice, animal cookies and goodie bags.
Next, our good friend Margot Finke, has highlighted our book Zooprise Party / Fiesta Zoorpresa on her blog. Check it out here.
While you’re there, check out her cool pet, mischief. She’s got all sorts of great information and fun things on her blog and website. Thanks Margot for putting up such a nice post about us.
Another great review from Lea Schizas arrived this week too. You can read it on her blog The Writing Jungle. Thanks Lea!
Then, Sunday one of my boss Joy’s neighbors told her she was in one of the island newspapers. There in the Arts and Living section was a picture of Joy with the books and a short article about the books.
All in all, a great week for Zooprise Party / Fiesta Zoorpresa.
Hop on over to Laughing Zebra – Books for Children and pick up your copy and a copy for a friend or two. We offer free shipping and an autographed copy of the book.
See you Thursday with a review about a boy and his dog.

‘V Zoo’ buzz and special Boo news!
Hi everyone out there, this is Mori. I just want to say Thank you for helping me celebrate my birthday. Wow! I didn’t think anyone noticed me way at the end of the zoo. My boss Joy is having lots of fun promoting the book. She’s going to a school this week to share it with a group of 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. I’m sure she’ll tell us about it when she gets home from it.
Here comes Zebee, Lito and Elvis. I wonder what they have their heads together on now.
Hi guys! What’s going on? You look pretty excited.
Hi Mori, we are. We just found out that at the teaching zoo Rebekha went to they’re having a Boo at the Zoo this Friday.
Where is it Zebee? Can we go?
It’s at the Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Florida. I don’t think we can go, but we can help make sure all the people in the area do. Here’s a link to the page to get the details. I have heard Rebekha talk about it, from when she went there. Sounds like it’s lots of fun. Also, your admission is a can of food!
Oh and that’s the poster up at the top.
Hey Mori, Lito and I want to thank you for having a birthday. Now people all over the world know about us and more are buying the books each day, so more and more people are going to learn about us.
Gee, thank you Elvis and Lito for throwing me the best birthday party ever. Who’s birthday is next? What can we do for them?
I was thinking . . .
Well, looks like we are into another planning session here at the ‘V Zoo’. Got to go and listen in on the plans.

The Activity Book is printed! Picture book printing soon!
Hi everyone in Bloggerville. Zebee here. Today my boss Joy is on the phone with Kelly from 3 A Press, where the book is being printed. I want to hear what they are talking about. Let’s listen in.
“Joy, I just wanted to tell you that the Activity Book is being printed as we are speaking.”
“That’s great Kelly. I can hardly wait to see how it looks in print. I’ve looked at it on my computer screen for so long, it will be strange to hold it in my hands and turn the pages.”
“It looks really good. Also, if things go according to plan, the picture book will be printed Friday. Are you and Julio still planning on being here for that?”
“You bet. We wouldn’t miss it. Can I bring my camera and make a short movie of the printing process? I want to put it on the internet. Sort of a ‘virtual field trip’ for my readers.”
“That’s a great idea. Of course you can.”
“Great. Well, I’ll wait for your call later this week to see if it’s a go for Friday. Thanks Kelly for everything.”
“No problem Joy. We’ll talk in a few days. Bye.”
“Bye Kelly.”
Wow! That sounds really good. I wish I could go along, but I don’t think I fit in the car. Well, I’ll keep you all posted and as soon as the video is ready I know my boss Joy will put it here first.
See you Thursday with a special visitor and a review I wrote about her book.

Thanks Zebee for that nice introduction. Zebee invited me over to see all the new goodies Joy Delgado added to his Blog. Zoopriseparty-Fiesta-Zoorpresa is really way cool. To add to this "coolness," I thought I would introduce you to "Humdinger Hummers," another of my rhyming, educational books: on CD and download. Delightful illustrations by Amy Moreno.
If you planned to cook up a Hummingbird pie,
REVIEW:
Genre: Children’s
In beautiful rhyming verse, Margot Finke enlightens her readers about the habits of these charming feathered friends. What do they eat? How big are their nests? And what kind of personality do they have? All but the most avid bird-watcher will find something new to learn about hummingbirds. The quirky and cheerful illustrations by Amy Cullings Moreno complement the text in a dazzling burst of color.
The United States has many awesome and fascinating animals. Hummingbirds are some of the most beautiful wild creatures in the U.S. Go with Zebee and his Zoo friends to my website's "WILD U.S CRITTERS " page. There you can learn cool new stuff about Hummingbirds and other critters.
QLIPPITS "voice" slides are a way to see the "Humdinger Hummer" illustrations, while listening to me read the story.
Zebee, you are a real pal for having me over. I hope "Humdinger Hummers" helps you and your friends appreciate the hummingbirds that zoom around the flowers in your zoo. Make Zebee’s Zooprise Party - Fiesta Zoorpresa a daily stop-over!
Zebee is thrilled about his boss, Joy's new web site . Go visit, and see all the terrific new surprises for yourself!
Thanks Margot. I will take some time to watch the humming birds. I sure did learn a lot about them. I hope you’ll come back in a few weeks with another book to share.

Book Review Mama Grizzly Bear by Margot Finke

Thank you Zebee.
Zebee has become my good friend. He invites me inside Zoopriseparty-Fiesta-Zoorpresa so I can tell you about some of my rhyming, educational picture books. This week I brought Zebee and friends one longer story, titled "Mama Grizzly Bear."
It takes you for a one year trip into the life of Mama Grizzly Bear and her new cubs.
SAMPLE VERSES:
The great grizzly mama is awesome and wild,She'll tear you to bits if you threaten her child. With her shaggy coat flying, she hunts down a meal,Her sharp teeth and claws make it look like a steal.
When winter comes roaring right out of the sky,The Grizzly snores off in a place warm and dry.Just wait until spring pops her first tender shoots,That's when, with a yawn, she'll start digging for roots.

REVIEW:
Genre: Children’s - Title: Mama Grizzly Bear - Pages: 27Author: Margot FinkeIllustrator: Gloria SwanPublisher: Writers Exchange E-Publishing - ISBN: 1 920972 18 8
Mama Grizzly knows exactly what to teach her inquisitive cubs, and Margot Finke knows exactly how to show us.
Readers young and old will enjoy following Mama Grizzly through a year of her life. In rhyming verse and lifelike illustrations, we see Mama snug in her cave nursing her cubs. When they’re old enough, she guides them to find the food they will need to survive, like berries, honey and fish. And when winter blows cold and snowy, a long nap is in order. A gentle nudge reminds us that man has encroached on nature and is her only threat.
MUSE REVIEW MARK: GREAT READ
