New Happenings at the V Zoo

Ringo (bongo): Paul, come look at this! What do you think they’re doing back there?

Paul (bongo): I’m not sure. Hey, Adam, can you see what Rebekha, Sally and Joy are doing?

Adam (kudu): Looks like they’re setting up a picnic.

Paul: Why?

Zebee: Hi guys! What’s up? Oh, hi everyone in Bloggerville. Didn’t see you there. So, Ringo, what are you looking at?

Ringo: Our boss Joy, Rebekha and Sally are over there behind the elephant exhibit and we’re trying to figure out what they’re doing.

Zebee: Oh, is that all? They’re …

Billy (chimp): I know, I know! They’re going to make me a new playground. Right?

Zebee: Well, you’re part right. They are planning a new playground, but it’s not for you Billy. Sorry.

Billy: Aw gee, I was hoping…

Ringo: So who is the new playground for Zebee?

Zebee: It’s for the families that come to visit the V Zoo. It’s going to have picnic tables, BBQ pits, a jungle gym, swing set, wading pool, gazebo and lots more.

Adam: Sounds like it’s going to be a fun place for them to spend part of their day at the zoo.

Paul: I’m glad we will have front row seats when it’s open. I like to watch humans, don’t you Adam?

Adam: I like watching the kids. They do some of the funniest things. So, Zebee, when is this playground going to be done?

Zebee: Around the end of the year sometime. I think our boss Joy is planning a special party with some of her cyber buddies like Margot, Donna and Shari.

Billy: Oh goodie! I really like Margot, Donna and Shari. Are they going to bring all their books and have a story party?

Zebee: That’s part of the plan. Oops, I’ve got to go. There’s this special event going on over at, well I”ll tell you more about it on Sunday. Bye for now everyone!

Tuesday at the ‘V Zoo’ the bears get new digs!

Good evening everyone in Bloggerville. I know I usually get this out in the morning, but lots is happening and I wanted to be able to tell you the very latest. We are adding to our bear exhibit and I just know the bears are going to have fun with the plans. Let’s listen in as Rebekha and Sally talk about what’s going on.

“Sally, have you heard about the new bear exhibit?”

“Yes Rebekha. I think that Boris and Belinda are really going to enjoy their new digs.”

“I like the campsite idea. Can you imagine the fun we are going to have hiding treats there? I want to hang some from the trees in net bags. What other types of enrichment ideas can we do?”

“I think we can put their food in the trash cans so they can knock them over and forage. The tent area brings back some childhood memories for me. I remember when we went camping in Yosemite, the bears walked through the campground at night. I was scared, but the bears never bothered us. We just saw their shadows as they walked past. I bet there are many other visitors who will remember things like that too.”

“Sounds like you had some interesting camping experiences as a child. What is the next area that is getting a face lift? I think I heard it was the bongo exhibit. Did you hear that too?”

“Yes, but I don’t think there are any definite plans as to what the changes are going to be. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what they come up with.”

“Let’s walk over to the bongo exhibit. I have some ideas. I was thinking that we could. . .”

Sounds like Rebekha has a plan. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what our boss Joy has to say.

Well, it’s time for me to go to sleep. I’ll be back on Thursday with another great book review. Sleep well!

Zebee out.

The ongoing adventures of Elvis

Last time we checked in with Elvis, he’d been having a wild time opening all the exhibits in preparation for the ‘big event’. I wonder how many he’s opened so far and how it’s going. Let’s go ask him.

Hey Elvis! The people in Bloggerville and I want an update on your night openings. Can you fill us in? How many have you opened? Any more escapes like Billy? Can I go with you on your next one?

Whoa! One question at a time Zebee. I know you and all the people out there are curious, so I will answer all your questions. Let’s see, so far I’ve opened Lito’s, the giraffes, Jabari the leopard’s, of course Billy the chimp’s, the bongos, kudus and tiger exhibits. Oh I almost forgot, I also looked at the Polar Bears and Penguins to figure out how I’m going to do that one. I think I’ve figured it out, but I need some help with these, so yes, Zebee you can go with me.

Great! When do we go? Tonight?

Let me check with Elvira. Now that she’s laid her egg, she wants me around at night. I haven’t gone out in a while, so maybe it will be okay. I’ll let you know.

Any more escapes, or is everyone behaving?

Jabari was a bit annoyed when I tried to get him out. He was in the middle of his nightly prowl and didn’t want to be disturbed. The giraffes were all a twitter and hard to keep quite, but the rest were really good about it. Everyone is excited and can hardly wait.

Okay Elvis, let me know if we are on for tonight. Bye for now.

Will do. Bye Zebee.
